It is the only factory-insulated product with zero/zero clearance for high-heat wood-burning appliances. DuraVent, Inc. (“DuraVent”) provides this limited lifetime warranty for all of its products with the exception of Ventinox® (lifetime), and PolyPro® (ten years). Subject to the limitations set forth below, DuraVent warrants that its products will be free from defects in material or manufacturing, if properly installed, maintained and used. DuraVent products are fully warranted if installed only by a professional installer. This Warranty is transferable from the original homeowner to the buyer of the home. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, smoke damage or damage caused by chimney fires, acts of God, or any product that was: (1) purchased other than from an authorized DuraVent dealer, retailer or distributor; (2) modified or altered; (3) improperly serviced, inspected or cleaned; or (4) subject to negligence or any use not in accordance with the installation instructions included with the product as determined by DuraVent.

 

DuraVent provides the following warranties for its products: One Hundred Percent (100%) MSRP 15 years from the date of purchase, and Fifty Percent (50%) thereafter, except for the following limitations on: all Termination Caps and DuraBlack® are warranted at One Hundred Percent (100%) for five years. All warranty obligations of DuraVent shall be limited to repair or replacement of the defective product pursuant to the terms and conditions applicable to each product line. These remedies shall constitute DuraVent’s sole obligation and sole remedy under this warranty. This warranty provides no cash surrender value. The terms and conditions of this warranty may not be modified, altered or waived by any action, inaction or representation, whether oral or in writing, except upon the express, written authority of an executive officer of DuraVent.

 

Corn, bio-fuels, driftwood or other wood containing salt, preservative-treated lumber, plastic and household trash or garbage, or wood pellets containing such materials must not be burned in the appliance or fireplace. In case of a chimney fire, the chimney must be inspected and approved by a certified Chimney Sweep before reuse. After each annual inspection, maintenance, and cleaning, the certified Chimney Sweep must fill out and date the appropriate section of the warranty card provided with the chimney liner.

 

LIMITATIONS ON INTERNET SALES: Notwithstanding any other terms or conditions of this Limited Lifetime Warranty, DuraVent provides no warranty for the following specific products if such products are not installed by a qualified professional installer: DuraTech®, DuraTech® DTC, DuraTech® Premium, DuraPlus HTC®, DDW®, DuraChimney® II, PelletVent Pro®, DirectVent Pro®, FasNSeal®, FasNSeal® W2, FasNSeal® Flex, and PolyPro®, and DuraVent’s relining products including DuraLiner®, DuraFlex® (SW, Pro, 316, 304), and Ventinox®. What are DuraLiner's Specifications?


Applications

DuraLiner is a high-temperature, insulated double-wall masonry relining system for use with appliances fueled by gas, pellet, oil, wood, or coal. It safely protects masonry chimneys from the damaging effects of flue product condensation.

 

Materials and Construction

.016″ 304 stainless steel inner liner. Rigid relining pipe: double-walled with 304 stainless steel inner and galvalume outer. Factory insulated between inner and outer walls. DuraLiner Rigid Pipe in round or oval, is constructed with built-in fittings and pre-drilled holes (stainless steel rivets included). Round 5″ DuraLiner rigid pipe is constructed with built-in twist-lock and pre-drilled holes.

 

Clearances

Rigid double wall: 0″ clearance between the liner and masonry and 0″ clearance between the masonry and combustibles. DuraLiner Flex: 1″ clearance to masonry. Zero clearance with insulation.

Planning Your Installation:

  1. Refer to the Typical Installations for the needed parts for installation.
  2. The size of the liner should match the outlet size on the appliance.
  3. Determine use of round or oval pipe based onthe interior shape of the chimney
  4. Determine the length of liner needed. Subtract 1 1/2″ overlap per joint on pipe. When using Extend-A-Cap kit, liner must extend 6″ above top of the masonry surface.
  5. Make sure the top of the masonry chimney has a leveled surface to insure a proper fit for the Extend-A-Cap or Transition Anchor Plate and to provide a secure, leak-proof installation.
  6. If a free-standing appliance is used, select the vent or stovepipe pieces to connect from the appliance to the liner. Refer to installation instructions.
  7. For Installations using a Transition Anchor Plate, refer to the DuraTech, DuraPlus, or DuraPlus HTC catalog section or installation instructions for proper parts and installation.
  8. Important! Check to be sure the installation complies with all local and national code requirements, including clearance to combustibles. Contact the local building inspector for permit requirements.

 

Design Recommendations

  • The following design recommendations are a general guideline to assist in the design and selection of liner components for your installation. Always follow DuraVent installation instructions enclosed with the cap or support box before installing your chimney system.
  • Before relining a chimney, it should be cleaned and inspected, by a certified chimney sweep, to verify the integrity of the mortar and masonry.
  • DuraLiner is approved for 0″ clearance between the liner and masonry and 0″ clearance between the masonry and combustibles.
  • DuraLiner is used for wood-burning appliances when zeroclearance or oval pipe is needed.
  • Refer to the appliance manufacturer for installation requirements affecting venting. Keep the vent path as straight as possible for best performance.

 

Restore Deteriorating Chimneys with DuraLiner

When a masonry chimney is damaged or has fallen down, it can be replaced with a safe, listed liner system or factory-built chimney. DuraLiner, when used with a Transition Anchor Plate and in combination with DuraTech, DuraPlus, or DuraPlus HTC Chimneys, replaces the damaged masonry chimney with a safe, efficient, and economical listed chimney system (DuraPlus HTC is listed for use in Canada). 1. Is the insulation sleeve required?
Yes, if flex sections of DuraLiner. is used above the first flue tile you need a 1 inch clearance or insulation blanket in that upper narrow area above damper.

2. What are the outside dimensions of the pipe?
8” round is 8 5/8”, 6” is 6 5/8”, 6” oval is 4 3/4” x 7 3/4”, 8” oval is 4 3/4” x 10 3/4”.

3. How tall can I Extend-A-Cap Termination kit above masonry?
Extend-a-cap kit termination may extend from 5” to 5’ above the top of the masonry chimney. (Note: The standard termination is now obsolete).

4. Is DuraLiner® a zero clearance liner?
Yes. Double-wall DuraLiner. has a 0” clearance to combustibles inside masonry and zero clearance from exterior of masonry to building framing.

5. Is it okay to burn coal or oil?
Yes. It is an all-fuel liner ap-proved for wood gas and coal.

6. Is the Transition Anchor Plate approved for both DuraTech® and DuraPlus® insulated chimney extension?
Yes either chimney may be used.

7. What connects the DuraLiner® to the chimney above Transition Plate?
You must use the Slip Connector Hanger assembly to join inners.

8. Is it UL 1777 tested?
Yes.

9. Can I use the insulation sleeve for other brands of pipe?
No, it is only listed for use with DuraVent®.

10. Is the 8” oval equal to the 8” round?
Yes, they are essentially the same.

11. How do I connect DuraLiner® Pipe?
Use a pop-rivet gun and the rivets provided with each length of pipe.

12. How do I install a Wall-Pass-Through?
Follow the installations instructions. For use through combustible wall.

13. Why is the oval tee single wall?
To keep width to a minimum.

14. How can I order a masonry thimble with a slip connector?

15. What type of stainless is used?
304 type stainless steel.

16. What is the clearance to combustibles?
There is no clearance to combustibles when used in masonry.

18. Can I use my own masonry termination caps?
No. You must use a DuraVent. cap for termination.

Yes. Double-wall DuraLiner. has a 0” clearance to combustibles inside masonry and zero clearance from exterior of masonry to building framing.

5. Is it okay to burn coal or oil?
Yes. It is an all-fuel liner ap-proved for wood gas and coal.

6. Is the Transition Anchor Plate approved for both DuraTech® and DuraPlus® insulated chimney extension?
Yes either chimney may be used.

7. What connects the DuraLiner® to the chimney above Transition Plate?
You must use the Slip Connector Hanger assembly to join inners.

8. Is it UL 1777 tested?
Yes.

9. Can I use the insulation sleeve for other brands of pipe?
No, it is only listed for use with DuraVent®.

10. Is the 8” oval equal to the 8” round?
Yes, they are essentially the same.

11. How do I connect DuraLiner® Pipe?
Use a pop-rivet gun and the rivets provided with each length of pipe.

12. How do I install a Wall-Pass-Through?
Follow the installations instructions. For use through combustible wall.

13. Why is the oval tee single wall?
To keep width to a minimum.

14. How can I order a masonry thimble with a slip connector?

15. What type of stainless is used?
304 type stainless steel.

16. What is the clearance to combustibles?
There is no clearance to combustibles when used in masonry.

18. Can I use my own masonry termination caps?
No. You must use a DuraVent. cap for termination.
