The Gravity Heat Transfer systems (HMGW) are designed to be installed in conjunction with the Empire Comfort Systems specified fireplaces, to redirect the amount of heat produced during the operation of the fireplace. When installed, the Heat Transfer system through convective airflow will reduce a certain percentage of the heat expelled directly out of the fireplace, thus reducing the temperatures of the wall above the fireplace.
